Last days of magic.

And then it's there before you know it, the day to leave Erasmus paradise. My last weeks in Montpellier I've just been ignoring the fact that day would come and now I'm already 3 days home and I just find myself scrolling the whole day through pictures of these last wicked 5 months.
Last week my dad came to Montpellier to kidnap me back home and finally on tuesday the car drove us back to the country of beer. A car filled with roadsigns, other collected stuff from the past months and a grumpy daughter with loads of precious Erasmus memories spinning trough the back of her head.
Before my lapse into post-erasmus depression, lucky me still did a lot of cool stuff.
Camping on the beach with a bunch of friends, crashing some goodbyeparties, attending "Le Apéro Géant" which was a bit overrated so we all decided to dive into a fountain, a short visit to St. Guilhem Le Désert, buying some muscat for on the way home and then finally attending my own last dinner in Montpellier...

Last Night in Montpellier

Benji and Samuel, hero's for walking home at night over the aqueduc.

So Mr. Erasmus, thanks a lot for these 5 wonderfull months of my life in  beautiful Montpellier but most importantly for all these friendships and hilarious moments carved in my mind untill I get alzheimer. I return back home with this bittersweet itchyness in my mind. Bitter, to know that I won't see all the people I've spent 5 months for a while. But also sweet, cause I'm about to see my loving friends and family back after a long period of abscence.

Yo para ser feliz quiero un camion...

I know half of Erasmus Montpellier is sitting behind their desks right now (other half lives at Supagro and is laying in their beds curing a hangover from last nights party)but still it's hard to concentrate on my upcoming finals. Especially when your course note's are writtin in your own exotic french and you notice that even bumblebees are sunbathing outside your window while flying with their fluffy asses in the burning sun.
But for every disease there is a cure! In this case the disease is called studying and the cure? Well scrolling through pictures of the days before I had my ass glued on this chair. Days of Sunshine, Chaos and Magic...

Strolling downtown with Laurent, Lien and visiting friend Jan.

Breaking into Hotel Pullman to test if their pool is "swimproof"...
This mission will be continued!

Eating Bagels in France...

Looking at drunk French students who like to climb in statues in the middle of a roundabout at my school.

More strolling through town...

Following strangers to an appartment party in a creepy house...

... and then spending tooo much time in the bathroom to make weird pictures:-)

Spending many nights at Supagro = paradise.

Here you can see Fernando and Ana dressed in the local Supagro style.

And when it's sundaynight and you've got nothing else to do just go cooking with a bunch of crazy in the coconut people.

And from now on: Monday night = Pleine Lune night

Where the music is nice...

... and the people cheery

I wish it was already fridayafternoon again. Five more days of motionless staring at a wall. People burn down some candles on thursday and friday cause I have no idea what these french exams are going to be like.

Happiness.

Warm wind blows through your salty hair as you drive by nightfall back home from a party in a bunker somewhere in nomansland. You hold on tight to the steering wheel when the road descents so steeply that you bump over all the cracks in the road while in the back of your head Led Zeppelin's Tangerine is playing.
Sand all over the ground of your 8 square meter erasmus kingdom home. It's 2 am, you're voiceless of all the talking and you can't sleep because you want to share some of you're happiness with the world in written symbols. Voiceless of talking with your visiting friends from home the way you used to talk with them back home. Voiceless of chatting with your french mates because you're finally able to say the things you want to say them straight away and they can see you the way you really are. Voiceless and most of all happy of living my life at 100% speed, the way I always should do it. Happy and thankfull for these times.
Times like these are priceless and passing by too fast. And it's then in the middle of the night at a moment like this that you realize, I should moan a little less cause right now I'm a lucky bastard.

Happy New Yearzzz

Here's to 2010 that was superduper fine because of all the things that happened:
I got to know 2 amazing countries: Peru and Bolivia, had a blast during the summer pretending to be a lifeguard, had so much fun with friends I never want to lose, spend a lot of time swimming in July, met new great people, went to Dour, I danced in drunk and less drunk conditions, my little crazy sister entered her first year of university and colonised Ghent, I loved music more and more and more, laughed with many hilarious situations, got stronger from all the stupid things I did or just  injured (that last thing mostly in drunk conditions, falling of bikes, tables, etc.), I was asked to sing in a band, finished another year of university (- 1 course), fell out/in/out/in/out/in... ,(sorry I lost the count) of love and so many many many more stuff...

Here's to 2011 that will be even greater: Going on Erasmus, I'll dance more ( I'm not decided yet about the drunk or less drunk condition), maybe I'm going to Vietnam or Chili and if not I'm staying in Blankenberge this summer which is just as great, I vote for even more absurd hilarious moments with friends, I hope to snowboard like a ninja this winter, I wish everyone (especially my grandmother) a great health, planning to bake more cupcakes (!!!) and now for the clichés: I really wish everyone a lot of happiness, love and joy. Without those three we're just little losers.

Happy New Yearz everyone,
Lots of Love Luis x
