Nelson & Eivind just hanging on a sundaymorning. |
Just as spring was about to finally kick in in Belgium, Thomas and I hit off to Norway. Purpose off the trip: visiting our dearest (and almost completely integrated Norwegian) mountain goat Nelson who is doing an Erasmus year in Trondheim. Ten days is not a lot to explore the opportunities in this gorgeous country to the fullest but we tried our best: Accompanying Nelson and his climb fella's (aka true Norwegian vikings) on a climb trip into the wilderness of Selnes, a eenie-mini snowboard trip to Sweden, visiting Norways coldest village Røros, doing some touristy shizzle and some bouldering in Trondheim, also explaining to a bunch of Norwegians in the most abandoned city on earth (Røros) that your car battery has broken down and that your car needs a boost of Norwegian car battery. All of this tripping around was fully supported by "Eleanore" the almost turned to shred car of Nelson that came all the way from Belgium in the fall, spent a winter in Norway and is now living her last days without servo steering power. Despite the rather serious (at first sight) people and the expensive beers, this country is da bomb. From what I saw of nature, I can tell that it is breathtakingly bjoo-ti-ful. Everyone is doing outdoor sports like aaaaoooll the time, the sun in spring doesn't go under until ten o'clock and re-appears again by 4 AM, and they sell like five thousand flavors of Läkerol candy. What's not to love about that! Norge eg liker deg.
