So the amount of blogs that pop up as mushrooms in a moisty forest is uncountable these days. I personally don't consider my blog as a "blog" but more as some kind of therapeutic outlet for my rambling. Anyways, since I discovered the amount of time I dedicate to reading blogs, even the ones that make me go *Oooh another girl who decided to share her slightly unoriginal (or may I say booooring) clothing style photographed in a living room with some ugly plants and a stupid pet in the background * #sigh; I decided to get me a bloglovin' account to get some structure in the blogging jungle I lived in.
Two things I noticed:
1. The good ones that stand out of the crowd are the ones you can't put into any category at all
2. The fashion blogs make my bank account go down and my envying go up (I can't stand watching another 17 year old coming up with new Isabel Marant sneakers, Mulberry bags, Chanel cluthes ant 50 bottles of O.P.I nail polish every week. Makes me jealous, there I said it.)
So the point of this whole (quite critical, I know and I'm sorry, I admit I wouldn't mind owning a pair of Isabel Marant sneakers myself) ranting is that I'd like to highlight some of my all time favourite blogs starting with Garance Doré.
She's an illustrator, writer, photographer and I consider her as one of the most wity, talented and original bloggers I follow. She started her blog out of frustration, for she couldn't really connect with the readers of the magazines she was working for. The reason I love her blog so much is that it's a perfect mix of the things I look for in blogs but with a personal and very funny critical approach to it. She talks about the fashion industry, the pressure amongst people living in it, she reports about very interesting individuals but as well about her own life (to me she's interesting too that said). Over the years she has gotten some kind of cult status in blogger world, the fact that she's the "chérie" of other cult blogger The Sartorialist may have something to do with that. But she deserves all credit for her own work, you really must check it out.
In the movie above of this page you can get a peek of what kind a person she is as a blogger. Also I adore her French'ness (the accent when she speak english is adorable) may have something to do with my Erasmus over there.

Recently they received the prestigious CFDA Media award and with that it was the first time the award went to bloggers.
